Musings of a mad man.

Sometimes I'd feel more fulfilled making Christmas cards with the mentally ill.

If you have something you wish to say to me, but prefer to keep it private for whatever reason, please feel free to let me know at this entry. It can be about/to do with me, one of the communities I mod, or whatever you like :).

Be warned, I am very curious about people, so, knowing people are often shy, I post a lot of polls to get opinions, views etc.
I may or may not sell this information to either Pepsi or Coke, as it depends whether either offer me money ;).

If you would like to donate to show your appreciation of my journal please use the Paypal donate button here and I will smile lots.

If on the other hand you hate me, please donate and I promise to have a really shitty time with your money.

Oh and remember, Every little bit helps, said the monkey as he pissed into the ocean. So even a dollar, or 50 cents is appreciated, though larger amounts make me even happier...or unhappier depending on your motivation for donating ;)

Like myself, this journal will always remember Kirsty MacColl, October 10, 1959 - December 18, 2000, one of the greatest musical artists and such a tragic end.

Kirsty, you were one of a kind and you will always live on!

There's been a lot of talk about this LJ, maybe, maybe too much talk.
This journal is not a rebel journal, this journal is curefreak's journal.

OK, there really has been no talk about this journal, but shhhh, that is our little secret ok? ;)

*Note: This IS a rip off of the introduction of U2's 'Sunday Bloody Sunday', (and BELIEVE ME , it is in NO WAY meaning ANY disrespect to those who lost their lives on Sunday Bloody Sunday!)

I am a thinking person's idiot & just a guy, trying to get by. I also hide my intelligence so well that I can't find it anymore.

Disclaimer: Sometimes comment threads on my LJ get a little, (or a lot), offensive to people. An example can be seen here. I don't mean to offend and it is meant with good humour....no, really, it is! ;)

My Utopian political belief is below. Please feel free to ask if you want to know what it means (Oh and we are NOT recruiting, so no need to panic *LOL*)

I owe a debt of gratitude to my good friend, the journaller formally known as berryfae, for making me the image below.

I saw a bumper sticker on a car that said "FIGHT THE RICH...NOT THEIR WARS!", I agreed with it, so I put it on my journal user page and not just because I am too much of a tight ass to buy the sticker ;)

I moderate/maintain the following communities adelaideians, chelsea_fc_1905, no_tip_for_you, aussie_ads and ifidknownthen....Please join :)

"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" - Ernest Gaines

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on LiveJournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this.

It affects everyone
It doesn't discriminate
Show that it has affected you too

Short version: Mostly harmless.

Fractionally longer version: I am like a side show freak, killing time on LJ, until the circus returns to town.

Long Version:

I am a 42 year old male who doesn't have any kids and this is real, rather than just what I say to the child support agencies ;)....I just couldn't handle the competition for the Playstation. I am attracted to women, therefore I am straight and I am not bi, or gay simply because I am not sexually attracted to guys :).

I love The Cure...hence my user name. Though I talk about lots of things and not just The Cure...in fact most of my talking about The Cure is done on Cure dedicated communities and not here. Of those communities, the one I would recommend is thecure :). I am however utterly convinced that Robert Smith reads my journal and the song "Freakshow" is in fact a tribute to me, especially when you consider both my username and the subtitle mentioning sideshows were on here well before The Cure wrote and released "Freakshow"! I am however willing to admit I am wrong, but for that to happen I will need Robert Smith to sit next to me for a day in a bar or pub and drink many pints with me and tell me it isn't true...So Robert, it's now up to you ;).

I have an opinion on just about anything, especially if I know nothing about the topic! *Grin*. I speak my mind and appreciate others who do the same, so do not be afraid to disagree with me, as I actually hate my best friends most of the time.

Oh yeah I should warn you (this is required by law) I love the '80s...that's the decade, not octogenarians.

History...Relax, this won't be on a test or anything ;)

I was born in England and dragged to Australia by parents at the tender age of 8. I am an only child (gee this sounds like the bio of a serial killer *smirk*). Upon arrival in Australia, I was ostacised on a good day and beaten to a pulp on a bad day, for being English. This helped to make me develop a superiority complex (HA,HA.)

In high school I was frowned upon because I refused to fit the stereo-typical norm and rather than going with the herd, I tried to create my own group of loyal outcasts, as being a loner means you have to do your own dirty work ;). I spent time listening to the Sex Pistols, The Cure, Metallica etc, rather than top 40 as I was "supposed" to. As a result, and to my complete shock, I was respected...well more like feared. (Feared, as in "fear of the unknown", NOT, "I will kick your teeth down your throat" type fear).

Despite having lived in Australia for 33 years this November, I am still English and still hold an English passport and have never obtained Australian citizenship...Relax (Resists a Frankie Goes to Hollywood reference here, well almost anyway *LOL*) government people, I have permanent residency, so I am not one of those refugees that you fear so much.

Political leanings

I am unashamedly a Left Wing Anarchist, with ever increasing Nihilistic leanings. I don't mind what political leanings you have, IF ANY, so feel free to jump in. Even if you have extreme Right Wing, or extreme conservative views, you are welcome to express your views here. Please, if you are politically minded, be prepared to debate and discuss. I love a good debate, as long as it is about issues/views/opinions and doesn't resort to petty name calling.

I should point out that I am a Chelsea fan. This doesn't mean other team's supporters aren't welcome here, even Manchester United fans are welcome, should one of them actually learn to read and write and then steal a computer that is. Millwall fans are also welcome and who knows, you may actually find someone who likes you! ;P.

As much as I hate United I do LOVE this song (It's not work safe so be warned)

There is no need to panic, this journal isn't full of football talk....it bored my friends' list *lol*, so I set a community for it called chelsea_fc_1905.

The basic rules of engagement with me:

1. Don't take me too seriously, I am only 1 man, although I am the greatest man alive...HA,HA,HA.

2. I love people to speak their mind, even if they don't agree with me (ie are WRONG *giggle*)

3. You will always know where you stand with me, as if I don't like you I WILL tell you, and would/do appreciate the same in return.

4. I am a Libran so I love to argue and debate...oh who am I kidding, I just love to argue and debate, stuff blaming the starsign ;).

I also firmly believe that if I say enough, about anything, eventually the law of averages will decree that I have said something of major importance. *GRIN*.

Please feel free to have a look around, comment, don't comment, whatever you feel most comfortable with. If you get a drink while in my journal, please use a coaster. If you make a mess, please clean it up and mine too while you at it...Hey, actually, could you tidy up anyway, please? ;)

A massive thanks to the very talented twissie for my mood themes.

Unfortunately Kevin Bacon doesn't have an LJ, otherwise I could use this

For my records the Aussie voicepost number is: (03) 8807 0934 and to see who is stalking me, but in a harmless way otherwise they would have made themselves invisible *lol*, I go to this place.

This link lets you find out if a website is down, or if it's just you. I hope this useful link makes up for you having read all this rubbish I put on here ;).

If you're single AND sick of high gas prices try Amish on-line dating!

The following may make it appear that I am either xenophobic, or just plain paranoid *lol*. The truth is I am honestly neither of these things, rather these counters are here because I am trying to track visits from Nigeria, it's to do with a huge payment into my bank account from a Nigerian Prince, but that is a secret, so Shhh, Secret Squirrel on this one ok?

I put it up on May 1, 2009 (This is for my records, but it also shows how many people from different countries I have pissed off *lol*).
